hi all!
I need to know if i can make a small (2-4 gallon) indoor water garden in a glass jar. If I don't have a pump or a heater, can I put a couple of fish in it?

With no pump or heater, you could probably put a single betta (siamese fighting fish) in there. Bettas are not very picky about water quality. In the wild, they can live just fine in a mud puddle, because they actually breath air from the surface of the water. You can't put two in there because they are VERY agressive to other bettas. They cannot tolerate very cold water, but normal household temperatures should be fine for them. You might be able to keep a couple of guppies in it instead of a betta, but you may end up with more than one since they breed pretty easily.
