I am thinking of buying one for my pond
I am wondering if any body is using this vac
and does it work well.
I have a 3000 gal. pond I will put bottom drains in next
year.
ANY INFO will be helpful thanks

I ordered a muck-vac from Foster and Smith this morning. I am hoping it does a job for me in my stock tanks that have no pumps/filters.

Many people who have the muck vac complain about it not having much suction. You need good water pressure for it to work at all. I suspect it might be good for a small pond, but I don't think I'd want to try it in a 3000 gal pond. I followed the advice of many and got a much cheaper wet-dry shop vacuum. These things slurp up the water fast, so you want a large canister but don't need a lot of power. Mine was $30 on special and it works fine.

koidog & mamasue: I also 'posted' re- a vac for a small 250 gal. preform pond. My shop vac slurps up half the pond water before I can get back to the tank & shut it off! I need something with a control on the wand that is easy to turn on & off. The shop vac I have I put a medium opening screen on the flat wand accessory so I wouldn't suck up any small fish but it just is too powerful & no handy suction adjustment on the wand.

Hope we get some workable solutions!! Let us know how the Foster Muck Vac works & if it would work in a small pond (some of the wands I find are FEET long!)
