A very cheap solution, but only a bandaid, is to take a (clean) toilet brush and manually remove as much as you can.

Sorry I don't have more suggestions.

 o
thanks

Yeah I have done that but it's not helping :( I guess I will just live with it for now thanks for your suggestion.

I use 2% peroxide that I buy by the gallon at Smart and Final. It starves the algae of oxygen and kills it. Of course I am able to isolate my stream from the pond when I do it. Afterwards I remove the dead algae with a water witch or as someone else suggested you can use a toilet brush.

Standard strength hydrogen peroxide in the drugstore or supermarket is 3%. Swimming pool companies carrying Bacquacil products will carry a much stronger version but be careful using it. Remove as much of the algae as possible using a toilet bowl brush or similar brush. Then turn off your pump(s) and allow the water to stop running in your stream. Using straight hydrogen (put a one to several bottles in a plastic pump sprayer - one of the cheap ones) wait until the water is mostly drained away then spray the whole bed. Wait 20 or so minutes, restart your pump(s). You can repeat this every 3 or 5 days. It will wipe out the algae.
