I installed an 120 gallon raised pond this summer. I purchased a pre-formed liner tub and buried about 6" and about 18" is above ground, surrounded by natural stone. No fish or plants are in the pond, just a small pump for the waterfall. I don't treat the water with anything, except for a mosquito dunk.

I plan to remove the pump for winter storage, but I was wondering if I need to drain the water? If the water completely freezes, will it crack the liner? Any other general maintenance I should know?

Please give me all the pros & cons since I'm new to caring for a pond feature. Thanks
