Hi,

I posted this in the propagation forum but thought I might get better answers here. Thank you:

Hi all!
Me and my wife are at the beach for one week:) We went out on the beach and I found several mangrove seeds washed up on the beach. I am excited and plan to collect several to take when we leave. Our home is only a two hour drive away, what's the best way to keep them on the ride home (or here for a week) and the best, easiest way to plant / germinate them?

Thank you so much!

Ian

Ian, I am not sure which species of mangrove seed you found but here is a website that might help. My mangrove info is limited to my days in South East Asia, setting traps for crabs and chasing mudskippers.Fun when you are a kid. Below is a website I found about a guy growing red mangrove in an aquarium, you might be able to apply some of the ideas to your situation.

Looks like the site won't allow let me post a link but Google Mangroves in Aquarium.

Hope this helps some.
