Ouch! Glad there was no lasting harm and I'm very grateful we don't have those kinds of temps here for another couple of months. We all have those kinds of bobbles, so don't feel too bad. Bet you won't make that one again, though. : )

Glad everything worked out. When you got home was the house terribly cold? We have a furnace that is not too old but the flame sensor gets coated with carbon every year. Every year we have had the house go cold for this reason. I absolutely know the feeling of waking up in the middle of the night with my nose cold, and then groggily make out that the house if freezing! The first year I learned how to take a scotch pad to it and remove the carbon. Last year I had it replaced so wonder how long it goes without me hankering down to the basement with a blankie around me and my handy screwdriver, and scotch pad in hand.

Arghh.....Winter!

No carbon on my furnace. I have a programable thermostat so it doesn't kick in until 7:30 am if it's below 68F in the house. It probably was that morning but gotta love sweaters!
