Do tadpoles winter over?

I got myself 3 tadpoles this spring. So far two of them have done the changeling thing and seem to have moved off. But one guy is resisting the mutation and is still stuck as a big tadpole with two huge feet!

Will he winter over like that, or should I make some other arrangements for him? I do have an indoor tank but have no idea what I would feed him there. In the pond he can scrounge up the muck or some algae or lick the floating plants, but none of that is inside.

He will winter over Ernie.
I hope he/she does not "mutate" into something that we will see on CNN breaking news! LOL
