| Hi everyone,
I've combed these forums for an answer and I haven't found anything that has clearly answered my question. So, if anyone with info can help me out here I'd VERY much appreciate it!
I finished construction on my first pond at the end of September. Since it was so late in the season, I didn't even bother with fish or aquatic plants. So I have no fish or plants to worry about this first winter.
I have some dirt, gravel in the bottom of the pond left over from the construction phase. I'd like to eventually empty the pond and get all the gunk out of the bottom. The question I have though is should I empty now or wait until spring? The frost line in these parts is about 42". My pond is approximately 6.5' x 9' and 32" at its deepest spot. I have a 2" layer of sand topped with geotextile fabric under the EPDM liner. If I empty the pond this fall will I have to worry about frost heave messing with the pond hole?
Thanks in advance for all your help. |
