Forage During the Winter

What do your goldfish eat during the winter? I am in zone 7 and am for the first time having a hard time keeping any anacharis in the pond for munching during the winter. The fish have eaten every speck of it and every little piece of fairy moss and salvinia is eaten, too.

Do you just let them eat what algae grows on the sides of the pond? I am afraid they will get weak from hunger and die.

I am trying to grow some salvinia and fairy moss in the sunroom--would it be okay to feed the fish this during the winter? It doesn't get terribly cold here during the winter. I don't want to kill them from eating food during the winter.
