Lily, I'm so sorry to hear about the lost of your Koi. I've had people lose their fish and don't seem to feel a thing but when you become a Koi or Goldfish lover, because of their friendliness, it's easy to understand how people come to love these beautiful creatures and cry when they die.
As for your Koi Fry, congratulations. I can remember when we had our first spawn. It's very possible that the older fish are eating the younger ones or it could be that they are just hiding. Keep us posted,

Thanks Lorraine..I went up to the pond with a flashlight and did see two babies. Not the friendliest ones but at least two are alive. The water temp is much cooler now and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. They were zigging around all summer and they grew so fast that when I didn't see them, I assumed the worst. Maybe they all are just hiding, but from what?

Keep in mind anything that stresses your fish (like bad water) will get the little ones first. Big fish swim slowly most of the time, but they can dart ahead if they want to.

I'm not saying the missing guys got eaten, I'm hoping with you they are just good at hiding.
