| This year I bought a new waterlily, Peach Glow, and it's really been something special.
It raises its flowers several inches above water level, which I find quite pretty. But what seals the deal for me is that it stays open long after my other waterlilies have closed up for the night. I have three other kinds and during the summer they started to close up between 4 and 5 p.m. Peach Glow stayed open until dusk. I live in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, just north of the Vermont border, which means it's cold here. My other waterlilies have started to pack it in and aren't flowering very much. I took this picture just a few days ago, and as you can see, Peach Glow is still going strong.
This is my first year with the plant. Fingers crossed that it will winter over, as all the others have. |
