Pond netting

Well the new netting is catching lots of leaves as well as frogs! We found 3 on top of the net this morning. Two were bullfrogs which we relocated to the pond in our city park, one was a leopard frog which we kept. This might be a new way to catch unwanted frogs to relocate, beats that flashlight and net!

I had the same problems with toads a couple of years ago. I had the net flush with the edges of the pond, and the toads were trying to get to the water to spawn. I went out the same night I covered the pond, and there were about a dozen toads bouncing around like they were on a trampoline! I ended up lifting the edges about four inches so they could get under it. Everyone was happy after that.
