What should a new pond owner do?

| Hello,
We are looking at purchasing some acreage with a pond. We never owned a pond before. From reading your blog, I deduced that our ponds is not lined and its relatively large...about 60x100 feet...Where do I start? Should I do anything at all...? I would like to have some karp in eventually... |

| There's probably nothing you have to do. I'd certainly ask the owner if there's something they done, or expected to do. Adding carp shouldn't be a problem. |
