What should a new pond owner do?

Hello,

We are looking at purchasing some acreage with a pond. We never owned a pond before. From reading your blog, I deduced that our ponds is not lined and its relatively large...about 60x100 feet...Where do I start? Should I do anything at all...? I would like to have some karp in eventually...

There's probably nothing you have to do. I'd certainly ask the owner if there's something they done, or expected to do.

Adding carp shouldn't be a problem.
