| awhile back I posted a question as to how to get rid of equisetem that was taking over everywhere!! I had planted some thinking it looked nice around the pond area, little realizing how invasive it would become! Most responders just said:"good luck !!" No spray on it or pulling it up seemed to work but then I tried cutting off the top of each (yes, each!)stem & with a dropper I dropped in some weedkiller in each open stem. It worked & outside of an occasional stray stem appearing I have gotten rid of the majority of that equisetem. I did keep ( I STILL like the looks of it!)a few I dug up & placed in a pot down in the pond where I can keep it in bounds. Don't know if it will over-winter in the water though. Just in case there are others with this problem ... it can be solved! |

| I am amazed at your persistence. Your method works but is very work intensive. There are herbicides designed to work in an aquatic setting but there are different laws in different states when it comes to using them. Check with your local Co-operative Extention Service. |
