What to do for first ice storm??

This is my first winter with my pond. I live in the Dallas, Tx area so we don't have to deal with very cold winters. We have a pretty big winter storm coming in tonight with expectations of 1/2 of ice accumulation and lows in the teens for the next few days. (It was 75 degrees yesterday, btw). My pond is about 22 inches deep and about 325 gallons. I have a submerged pump, and an external laguna filter that is buried in the ground with the top 2 inches or so above ground. Do I need to do anything to prevent the pump/filter from breaking? Is it better to leave the pump on or off? Should I try to drain the filter? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
