| Hi all, don't know how else to ask this - is anyone here near the fires up in Malibu? Everyone OK? I'm about 45 miles or so from there, and having lost a house to a fire I know how awful it can be. Is anyone there and is there anything I can do?

Gigi - we're only a couple of thousand miles away but, ironically (once again) we also lost a house to a fire. There's that Sara Dippity again! Hopefully all our forum members are safe and sound.

That Sara Dippity! She just never lets up, does she? Don't tell me, your garden's a wreck and you have no time to get to it like me, huh?

Gigi, my garden's frozen solid! Isabel and her grandpa bundled up yesteray and went out and wrote her name in huge letters in the snow - no flowers now, but fun anyway. The girls and I did place all our spring vegetable and flower orders this week, so we are looking to spring. Good luck on your rose rearrangements!

How cool! We don't get snow where I'm at, but we do get frost and lately it's been in the 40s and high 30s some nights. I'm guessing up around the fires, they probably have several feet of ash instead of snow. I was thinking I'd go up with my outdoor vacuum and help clean up some of the debris, but haven't seen anything from this forum or the CA gardening, so maybe no one get ashed-in. If you've had a fire, you know how it can affect your life. Having had one, I try to help where I can, when I can (which isn't often, I have to work). Hey, question - where you're at, do mini-roses over-winter well outside or do you have to bring them indoors? And how do you winter-proof climbers, I always thought they shouldn't be cut. I've always wondered.
