| Hi Gean, It does seem kind of quiet here of late. I don't stop in very often... years ago this Forum was really active. |

| Hi zeffy, it is sad that no one comes here anymore. At one time I felt the rose forum was my family, where did everyone go?? How are you doing? |
|
| The way to make a forum active is to post. If a group of y'all are determined and post daily, gradually people will answer. Popular forums waste away the same way, people gradually stop posting. Fortunately, the 'on switch' almost always brings results if you are determined enough. People love to talk about their roses, but some people also appreciate being able to share. While Facebook has taken that role for some, I myself prefer GW because I like 'plant people'. |

| Hi, I just recently came back to my favorite online community...our rose forum! Social netorks can be fun, but we here at the rose forum were "social networking" long before Facebook, My space, Twitter etc and we rosy people have created a great community that far surpasses anything else I have seen online. | Carlotta---I do see some familiar names from our rosey friends on Facebook----I guess some people prefer FB to GW which is a shame---and I agree I do like plant people also. Florence |

| harborrose, I read your post on the RHA forum about climbers/apical dominance. In my now infamous thread about Orange Roses, flaurabunda made some comments about 'Hot Cocoa' that I think might make sense for breeding purposes IF the trait were inherited by climbing offspring. flaurabunda's comments: "Hot Cocoa? Not orange.....but I love it. It's the weirdest brick red/brown shade in cool weather, and a deep, reddish-orange when it's hot. Yes, weird growth habits. Likes to splash about 500 blooms lankily on very short, weak stems." (Thread linked below). Also, at one time the hybidizers were very excited about 'Hot Cocoa.' And you realize, I'm sure, that this is just speculation on my part. Thank you for understanding that, but I wanted to share these thoughts with you. |
