| Hi everyone,
I disapeared for a while and was so happy to see that gardenweb and our community is still here. So for all my old friends, it's great to see you again! For the people I have yet to meet, I hope to get to know you. How is everyone? How do your roses grow? This forum is an amazing community that enables our rose addictions, answers our questions, supports, encourages and it deserves to thrive. For those reasons, and many more - while I may be away sometimes due to health reasons, I will always return. It is really good to see everyone again! Rosy Smiles, Carlota |

| Hi Carlota, I think I remember you, I have not been here in a while either. I am sorry to hear about your health issues. Are you still growing your roses? |
|
| Hi Altorama, It really is good to see you!! I'm sure we know eachother and have read and responded to each others posts over the years. I love almost all roses, its a rare year that I stumble across a rose that I cannot even like or enjoy. Funny how they immediately come to mind when I really do try to forget about them!! : ) I taught my husband how to plant and tend my roses when I had to accept the fact that I really must be helped when I am in the garden. We also grow alot of other plants and trees but the roses are my passion, so we have the most of those. I have a degenerative back disease (a form of spinal stenosis) that seems to be invading into all aspects of my life. I seem to have the spine of someone in their mid-90's. The doctors are now testing me for MS and maybe that will help with some of the more odd symptoms. Like the spasms in my eyes that make everything I see a big blur or the spasms in my ears that disrupt my hearing. Who ever heard of having eye spasms??? It was the problems I started having in my arms and hands that forced me to back away from GW, I'm not very good at lurking but not participating! I shared about this long ago, and don't mind doing so again. I've seen many names here I remember well and hope to see even more. GW is truly the most amazing online community and I've always treasured the friends I've met here. Smiles, Carlota |

| Carlota, I rarely check the conversations side any more, since it has become so slow, but am glad I did this morning. Very sorry that you have had major health issues, but it's good to hear from you! |

| Carlota---You sure have had more than your share of problems---hope the Dr's can find some help for you-----Are you the lady who posted pictures of your home---If I remember correctly it had some interesting rooms etc---can you post the pictures again---was your home built into the side of a hill or something like that ? Hope I have the right lady----LOL Florence |

| Hi Florence, We did a major remodel of a home we bought years ago in OC and I do think I shared photo's of that house, especially after the GW party. Then we bought a ranch up in the hills that had a house that had a man-made cave. Is that the one you are thinking of? Now we live in a lemon grove. The soil here is amazing and the roses grow with reckless abandon. I have some pictures I can share with you of our orchard if you would like? I'm hoping to get some results of the MRI this week, I was surprised to find out that my vision issues could be a symptom of MS. I will keep you posted! Petaloid, Maybe it's time for us to campaign to get all our old friends back here and posting regularly again. What do you think? Rosy Smiles, |

| Hi Carlota! I am here again too after a long time away...so good to see rose friends here. I guess the spring blooms are bringing us out of the woodwork...lol Kristi |
|
| Hi Kristi, It's so very good to see you again! Spring does inspire the very nature of the rosarian! The smell of spring rain, the first spring bloom to that amazing and inspiring first spring bloom-fest! Right now I don't have to close my eyes and remember before, I just have to look outside and see my roses covered in rose blooms and all that gorgeous and healthy new growth. It's so good to be back, I'll try not to stray again! About my health...I saw the eye doctor with the MRI brain scan and there is no evidence of MS in my brain. I am happy about that although it doesn't rule out the spine. He refered me to an optic neurologist, I didn't know there were optic-neurologists! He's concerned that I might be having some sort of seizure(s) and he is also refering me to a regular Neurologist that he thinks highly of. I have been searching for a doctor who wanted to find answers for years, who knew I would find that doctor and they would be an eye doctor?? I guess spasms in the arms, legs, back, and neck are all par for the course but eye spasms that make everything blurry is something new and interesting!?!?! It is so great to see everyone! |

| Oh it is so good to come here after a long absense and see some familiar names. I too would love to become a regular again. I am getting so tired of FB. It was a fad but now I think that is over. I want to make this my home page now, again. My life has changed so much sine I first came here but my love of roses has only grown, it is so great to have this constant in my life. Carlotta a friend of mine was recently diagnosed with MS and it was an eye doctor that discovered the problem. Good luck with your doctors. I wish I could cure everyone! I hate that so many good people have to suffer. Valerie |
