Midwest Storms

I am worried about those of you who live in the Midwest - OK, NE, IA - anyone in the super-storm's path. It's hard to imagine a town simply flattened by the terrible winds. Hopefully some of you from the MW will check in when you have a chance.

Cheers,
Michelle

RE: Midwest Storms

Where I am here in the Omaha area, we had heavy rain (4.8" over the past 2 days, and more expected this afternoon and evening) and lots of flooding, but no tornadoes. Also lots of lightning and thunder. We even escaped the hail so far (knock on wood). We've been lucky, even despite the fact that everything is totally water-logged.

Well, I'm in Kansas, but not near that poor town that got wiped out by tornadoes. In fact, we haven't had any bad weather--just some overcast skies.

Hope everyone else is OK.

Kate

I have an elderly (91 this month) uncle living alone on a farm in Lindsborg KS; I've been watching video of the storms on TV....not the kind of storm we have or one I can understand. I've never been to Kansas myself but both parents raised there, my sister born in Kansas - my mother heard from a high school classmate (McPherson, class of '45) living near Greenburg who reported she and her family are fine.
