Yikes! I was northern bred, but snow in summer is too much! Course, I was in the flatlands. I know what you mean about mountains, however. Never spent time around them until about 5 years ago when I was in the New Mexico/Colorado area for 6 weeks. Mountains certainly are awesome--it is like you are lifted up into a completely different world, very ancient and enduring and majestic--none of the clutter and pettiness and busyness of everyday life in the lowlands. I loved the experience.

Have to admit--one of my favorite movies is "Jeremiah Johnson," mountain man.

If so, he is now a myth. Don't know if I could handle Pete being mythic man, however. LOL
