What is the name of the rose, Carla? Did you father inspire you to work in the garden?

Is this a Double Delight? It does look like it (or maybe Cherry Parfait). DD was my dad's favorite rose, and I grow several in my yard to remind me of him. He loved his roses, although they never did very well for him. He didn't have time as a farmer to properly care for them, and when his health forced him to quit farming, he also couldn't really care for them either. He only lasted a year or so after he had to retire at the ripe old age of 78. Gone now a little more than 10 years - there are times I still think "Gee, I should ask Daddy about that". I miss him, too.

It's beautiful, Carla. I'm sorry that your dad is gone. I miss my mother terribly. Her birthday and mother's day are close together so mother's day is hard. Your tribute is very nice.

nice thoughts on missing loved ones... my dad died in the 80's and I honestly can't say I miss him. he was a SOB, but sometimes I miss what he could have been...

The rose is Cherry Parfait. I feel robbed of time with him but what can you say.

Carla you have my sympathy it hurt so when you want to talk to them and they are not there...I hope you are feeling better.

I have my Mom and Dad's wedding picture and I put a vase of roses by it constantly. They both just wanted to be remembered every once in a while. I think they would like the flowers. Now I'll go cry.
