I met a hero today !!!

| I went to breakfast this morning with my DH and my daughter at Charcoal Steaks and things here in Yardley--
As we were leaving I saw an elderly gentleman with a hat that read----USS Hornet an aircraft carrier----I walked up to him to shake his hand and thank him for his service to our country---He lifted my hand and kissed it like the gentlemen of old used to do
He told us his first ship was destroyed but he survived to serve on the second one---He is 92 years old--What a charming gentleman he is
I would love to hear the stories he could tell.
Just wanted to share--I was very touched and loved meeting him
I will call our local paper on Mon because they have been doing a series of stories about Veterans.

| I would have loved meeting him too Florence! What a sweet man he must be. I too would have been thrilled to pieces to have him kiss my hand like that. What a gentleman!!! Deb |

| I think just being 92 makes him a hero. How lovely that he kissed your hand. That is very rare now a days. |

| I have seen the Hornet at Bremerton Naval shipyard. Those old ships are just docked..rotting away. I often wonder about those who served on them |
