Pics from 'The Gilded Age'....Newport Mansions

celeste/NH

Hi everybody,

DH and I so enjoyed our trip to Newport, Rhode Island last month and I wanted to share with you all photos of the Mansions. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, they will take your breath away! Several of these grand mansions are open for tours and it is fascinating to see how the aristocrats lived. These homes were called "summer cottages" and were only lived in for about 6-8 weeks during the summer season. They do not let you take inside photos, but here are some shots of the mansions & grounds. We are going back in December to visit the mansions when they are decked out for the Holidays.

I hope you enjoy the 'tour'.
