It does not look like crown gall to me. Crown gall is sort of lumpy, and darker, and you can actually pull it apart with your hands - yuck.

If your large graft union is hard to the touch, I would not worry about it.

Looks as if there are some stumps of dead canes on it - I would cut those off flush with the bud union, so that more canes might emerge.

Crown gall is disgusting. This almost looks like normal bud Union . Kind of dry and too high up.

No, this looks more swollen and too smooth for what I call crown gall....cauliflower has ridges

It's "granular" where the growth on your rose is smooth. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Kim
