Questions about spraying...

I like to garden fairly organically but I'm new and learning...I'm not even sure if "no-spray" means not spraying anything at all, or just not spraying chemicals. So maybe someone can answer that for me.

I had some cottony cushion scale on my roses this past year, and when I was talking to the garden center about it they recommended that I do a dormant spray with some Bonide. I use that on my fruit trees which would be smothered in scale if I didn't. From my understanding, spraying with a horticultural oil is safe...am I right?

So, questions are:

1) Can I spray with the Bonide?

2) should I also spray with a copper treatment?

3) When should I spray?

4) How many applications should I do this winter?

5) Is it okay to prune after. Not immediately after, but say, a couple weeks?
