I just cant seem to help myself, know I shouldnt - buying body bag roses that are unusual or older......I was in Home Depot and found these 2 yesterday. HMF says Karl Herbst is fragrant. I was wondering if anyone grows these two and what opinions are of them? Thanks...

RE: Anyone Grow Karl Herbst or Golden Masterpiece?

I planted a Golden Masterpiece last year in my garden. I bought it because some claim it is the biggest yellow rose around about 7 inches in diameter. The blooms didn't get that large last year however, I think it will do better this year. It did get Blackspot in the autumn but, not real bad. Weeks Roses claims it does real well in hot, dry climates. Good luck

I've grown Golden Materpiece for years. The blooms really are large and beautiful. It's a tall vigorous rose, though not very disease resistant. Karl Herbst I bought as a band. It grew swiftly from it's small beginning. I planted it in the ground last fall. We'll see how it does.
