climbing rose recommendation

Hello, I am in zone 7 (Atlanta, GA) and have had great success with the climber, "New Dawn". I would like to try another climber and am looking for recommendations, preferably in the pink or coral color family.

I am thinking about "Coral Dawn" as I read that it has fewer thorns than some and lax canes for easy training, but I welcome any suggestions from the forum.

Thanks!

You might want to look at Buff Beauty - it is quite robust, but I grew it as a hedge once with New Dawn, and the colors and blooms went really well together (I don't know if you are going to have the 2 climbers near each other).

Another climber I like that is coral/peach fading to pale pink is Summer Wine. Here is a picture - it is almost single, with very big blooms.

You can look them up on HelpMeFind.com/rose to see lots of pictures.

Thanks for the suggestions, Jackie. I am re-thinking Coral Dawn, some research shows that the stems can be so lax that the large blooms can weigh them down, and it can look a bit like an octopus--although I suspect that proper pruning and staking or tying up would make a difference there.

Too many beautiful roses to choose from!

Buff Beauty is really nice.

I planted the David Austin 'St. Swithun' this year in May. It has grown exceptionally well for me (in equivalent of US Zone 9) - the flowers have a glorious perfume and are very beautiful.

Crepuscule is one of my very favorite roses - it makes a gorgeous climber - peach sherbert blooms and it blooms continuously. Wouldnt be without this rose - am going to get several more this spring.

Tuderte....Your photo is beautiful. I have had St. Swithum for two years with NO blooms. Great foliage, but no blooms. I am giving it one more year and then...out of here!! If you have any special instruction with this rose, please share. It is such a lovely rose and I would love to save it. It is on a beautiful support and it gets plenty of light. Thanks, Lesley

I have St Swithun and the blooms are truly romantic. However, mine wants to turn into a bush than a climber and secondly it bloom sparsely.

Lesley - The Austins are hungry feeders - give them plenty of water and fertilsers and you will see some results..

I have Zephrine Drouhin. It is a beautiful cerise color, thornless, and wonderful classic rose fragrance. It does blackspot badly, but it's first flush is amazing, and it repeats for me.

olive, I second Crepescule. I live in NE Georgia and I have this rose. It does not get blackspot and will do very well in your zone. It's canes are pliable enough for a climber. It doesn't have huge blooms, but it has many. It's a noisette. Also, a slightly lighter color is Reve d'Or, which is an Earth Kind Rose and also doesn't get any blackspot. I know how susceptible roses are to blackspot in our area. And trying to spray a tall climber is difficult. I have Reve d'Or on an arbor and it covers it easily.

I second cl. America. It is a beautiful coral with very large and fragrant, HT form blooms. In my 9b climate I had blooms from April through December. I also love my Pink Don Juan - also fragrant. These are my two favorite climbers (that I have).

Thanks to everyone for such great suggestions! So many roses, so little yard!

Has anyone grown the climber "Eden"? I cam across it in my searching, and it's really beautiful. Wondering how it would do in Atlanta.
