I just mentioned that I'd like to see this kind of standard but I don't believe I ever have, sorry.

I have 'Renae' as a weeper. It's very nice. It was from Weeks circa 2000 Weeks and J&P were the main vendors of "tree" aka "standard" roses. J&P is going bankrupt and I'm not sure Weeks is still doing standards.

You might check with Burlington Roses and see if they can graft one up for you. I thought I read they might be doing that a bit, not sure though. Because you are in zone 6, check on hardiness for your zone.

There was also a standard that was supposed to be cold-hardy, it was called 'Polar Joy'...not sure if that's a weeper, or if it is still available, or if it was good or not.

I have a five year old Baby's Blanket standard from J&P that has the most weeping form of any of my roses. I have tried every ground cover, mini climber, etc.,mostly in hanging baskets. HAve not had much luck. I have seen pictures of Hoovb's yard. Roses are spectacular. Regan also has beautiful tree roses.

The old Sequoia Nursery used to do weeping standards, in "patio" size. I believe that Burling Leong still offers them through her Burlington Roses.

I've seen Sweet Chariot and Gourmet Popcorn done as weeping standards, and they were pretty spectacular.

One of my favorites that I've seen at local nurseries here and there is Weeping China Doll. It's very pretty grafted as a standard.

I echo Lago's response. I've seen the weeping China Doll as a standard (tree rose) and it is beautiful. One of the most frequent roses seen in standard form I believe....Maryl

I have a Baby Blanket standard too and it does not weep at all for me. Growth is always very upright and stiff.

I'll have to look for some of these others!

Mine is the only one that weeps! I do prune to encourage that shape, tho.

What I meant is, the only one I have that weeps is BB. Am trying Inocencia this year.

Check the J&P catalog for 2012. They have Renae as a 36 inch tree rose.
I bought 3 and they're pretty good looking. Of the 3, one had a lopsided graft, but the other two are beautiful.

I also bought 4 Raspberry Blanket trees. three were great. One had a lopsided graft.

JP customer service sent replacements for the lopsided ones.

RE: weeping tree rose

here is the weeping tree rose i ordered...this particular nursery does not have great reviews. however neither does michigan bulb but i find they are close enough to me that when i get the plants they are in good shape. i also get a free rose of their choice, that will be interesting to see what i get. anyway there is a link to the weeping tree rose i picked below and i sure hope it is as pretty as in the magazine when established. i really have wanted this for a long long time. this is my valentines day present, told my husband and this is what he got me but i just ordered today.
