Anyone grow Della Reese?

I love purple roses. Have Twilight Zone coming this month. Also have an Armstrong Garden Center nearby that carries Della Reese, a parent of Twilight Zone. Am interested to know if anyone grows it, and if so, what they think of it.

RE: Anyone grow Della Reese?

Della Reese is a great California rose. I love, love, love mine. Very healthy vigorous plant, and it does NOT mildew, ever. I believe it was not marketed nationally because it does blackspot badly. But we don't really have any blackspot pressure here in So Cal, and I assume that is also true where you are.

I recommend it. Big plant, though -- wants to be a seven footer.

If anyone can get this rose bareroot, PLEASE contact me. If not bareroot, in a 3 gal. pot, I'm willing to talk. I REALLY want this rose.

Its a nice rose, but to me Hot Princess is way better, more blooms, better grower ect.

I like DELLA REESE. Mine's been in a big plastic pot for yrs. She grows nice fat canes and puts out beautiful purpley-magenta blooms that last quite awhile.
