crazy about the 'eyed' roses

Well, I now have spring fever. In stark contrast to this time last year (worst cold in N TX since '89), this winter has been warm. The roses have been growing for several weeks and a few are starting to bloom. Some of the local nurseries are starting to put out the spring delivery of new roses. I visited Strong's yesterday and found several interesting new ones: thrive, koko loco, eyeconic pink lemonade and eyeconic lemonade. I picked out a nice eyeconic lemonade to buy and spotted a robust 'bull's eye' that had to go home with me. I look forward to growing these hulthemia hybrids- not sure how they will do, but they should like the summers here.

Well, if it gives you any clues, the Eyeconic series was bred in Bakersfield, California where it is HOT! Bull's Eye is a British import, but both were bred from Hulthemia, "the most noxious week in Iran!" The hotter and more arid it is, the better. Kim
