Well, since I have spring fever and the plants are waking up here- I took a trip to Chamblee's today. They have many Buck roses in the clearance section- $2.50 for 1 gal and $5 for 5 gal. I saw: cinnamon spice, earth song, calico gal, dawn star, butterfly magic, and many more. They told me they are only retaining 18 Buck varieties and that everything in the clearance section was being culled due to slow sales. I find it sad that so many unique roses are going to the wayside, but I understand that plants must turn to make a profit. Others in the clearance bin were: pink iceberg, burgandy iceberg, colorific, purple splash, starina, softee, valentines day, and others. I bought cinnamon spice, burgandy iceberg and purple splash for my mom.

They are so nice at Chamblees. If I lived near there I'd be in trouble. It's like living an hour away from Nuccio's for me. That is my candy store.

Tammy...I hate to tell you, but if you don't know, Stanley's Greenhouses in Knoxville carry about 170 different kinds of roses, including a LOT of Austins. Have I been a bad boy for telling you? lol. John

I made a haul up there in November....am just itching to go back, I live 2 hours from Chamblees. Sabalmatt, were the plants cut back and just starting to leaf out or were they already leafed out with any buds? I am going to Jacksonville tomorrow....am sure tempted to go on into Tyler, but still have lots of mulching and planting to do here....Chamblees is definitely a candy store!! Judith

Hi Judith, The roses were cut back and leafing out. I love going to Chamblee's. even though I out of space, I always come home with plants from there. It was sad to see so many Buck roses in the clearance bin. What town do you live in? Thanks, Matt

Wow, I'd take a lot of those off their hands if they'd just extend the sale to mail-order roses. I don't even see where I can order most of those off their website.
