I want this rose this year......but wondering if it does better grafted or own root? I am about to order some own root roses and wondered whether to include this one in that order or get it grafted. Thanks for any help! Judith

I got mine grafted and, in the desert, it does fine. Probably my favorite red rose (for now). You will love it.

I remember hearing on this forum that some hybrid teas lack vigor on own roots. Not sure whether this applies to Firefighter. I ordered mine grafted for this spring, and plan to bury the bud union to help it go ownroot. I think that it is OK for where I live (Northern New Jersey). Heard that it is borderline hardy here.
