What roses do you have next to Double Delight?

So..I am thinking of the area where I am going to plant DD. I am starting to hesitate as I am afraid of what to plant near it. Maybe I should plant DD in pots? Anyway, if any of you have pictures of what you have near and with DD I would beg to see them.

I've got my DD planted in a corner location so she's next to Black Magic, Black Cherry and Pinnacle. I also used Fabulous and Harm Saville to expand the red and white tones. While DD may range from red to pink tones and yellow to white, our particular brand of sunlight most often results in a mostly red with an ivory base rose.

I just posted to your "reds" thread, but I am considering planting mine with a bright yellow like Midas Touch, pale yellow like Elina, or pale pink like Queen of Sweden.

That fluorescent red is really clashy. This is a good place to use light yellow, which is going to wash out anyway in most color environments except blue perennials. And three of my very best modern roses are Elina, Prairie Harvest, and Irish Hope.

Double Delight and Crimson Bouquet in August. I like these together.

I had a valentines bed of double delight, chrysler imperial, french lace, scentimental and down in front was a border of the white mini gourmet popcorn. It was really sweet.

I have always loved the way DD reminds me of a sundae made with French Vanilla ice cream! :)

If you have room for a companion rose that is not a HT, consider Clement's Braveheart--a 4x4 shrub with some Austin ancestry in it. The red red gorgeous blooms (no purple fading) look wonderful near to my two Double Delights.

Not the best pic, but it gives you some idea of the lushness of Braveheart's blooms.

Braveheart 7-06
