Transplanting A Climbing Rose

I need to move Autumn Sunset - it is very healthy, several years old, has long canes. Should I trim these canes back before I move it or leave them? Know I will sacrifice blooms if I trim, but I am more concerned about the health of the rose. I am leaning toward trimming it - but haven't moved a climber before so would appreciate advice - thanks!

Trim the canes back. That will make it easier to handle, and also more likely to survive being transplanted.

I agree with Jackie. Cut it way back. It will need time to regrow its root system and you don't need long canes competing with roots. I have always cut the canes back when moving climbers.
