Everything I've read about drift roses talks about how they are soooo low maintenance and disease free. Within 2 weeks of planting my 4 new peach drift roses, the blooms are covered with botrytis. I'm so dissapointed. Do I have to spray for this or will it resolve itself? Each plant easily has 60-70 buds getting ready to open. Will they most likely not open now?

Spraying probably won't do much good. It will probably stop when the weather changes.

aggierose, how did this turn out for you? I suspect I had the same problem earlier this year on drift roses just planted. I pruned them back quite a bit, and they've taken off and are now covered in blooms.

We've had a very wet, warm spring and a huge planting of Drifts at the public garden where I volunteer came down with a huge case of SCALE of all things! Elsewhere Peach Drift is doing perfectly for us--- Location, location huh?
