| Once again I have some roses that need to find new places to live. It's a little worse this year because I started some for a community garden and I lost the person's contact information. So there are some 2 year old plants that have rooted nicely.
Pink Above All - from Heirloom roses. Nice plant but way too big. It was listed as a "mini" but it's not. Dark pink doubles and it's about 6 feet if I let it go. Cut back for now. Nothing wrong with it but it's too big for the spot. Ramblin Red - too ramblin. I don't know what I was thinking when I put that in. I should have put Pink in there but it's tangling up with Phyllis Bide and Crepuscule and it's hard to get to the corner now. Lyda Rose - got for a neighbor, she wanted to move it so I started a cutting figuring hers would die. Then she decided not to move it - just ripped it out and paved over her garden. So now this excellent rose needs a home. It's really a nice rose if you don't know it. Pink Knock Out - wonderful carefree rose. Monsieur Tillier - started for someone, lost her info. Butterfly bush - just started growing a couple years ago but I really don't need it. Small 3 year old white oak tree - no space in the garden for that. Also some assorted irises, etc. |

| Hi Rose, are you actually in New York City proper? I'd be really interested in the butterfly bush and Monsieur Tillier. We moved into a house 2 years ago, built in 1915. It had pretty much no flowering bushes to speak of. I added several last year and this spring roses are going in (9 total so far). The butterfly bush would be wonderful to have; it's something I've been thinking of purchasing and I think that Monsieur Tillier would be a great addition too; considering that it's been around so long. The blooms remind me a bit of another one I ordered (Gertrude Jekyll) but not so much that it will be too similar. Besides, one can never have enough pink roses in my book :) Feel free to send me an email. I work downtown NYC, in the Financial District. If it isn't too complicated for either of us to meet, perhaps I can give those two a new home :) |

| I'd love Pink Above All! Could you send me an email, and we can arrange a time? Although I live in NJ, I come into NY frequently for work, so I'm sure we could work something out. Thanks! Best, Frances |

| sivyaleah - They're in Brooklyn, near Prospect Park. No prob for me to get to Financial Dist with some of the small things but I can't carry the butterfly bush there! Sending a note. Frances - that's pretty big too, so I wouldn't be able to carry it in. Sending a note. |

| If you're still looking for a home for the Lyda rose, I'd be happy to have it. I live in Brooklyn too, in north Park Slope, so perhaps I'm not that far from you. I've read that this rose gets to be about 4-5 feet, but I've not seen a mature one. How big did your neighbor's rose get? My email is rdsimonsen@earthlink.net |
