Hi everyone, I have a few Endless Summer hydrangea that bloom bright blue in a foundation planting. I want to add a few Knockout Roses around the corner from them. What color Knockouts do you think would look best with the bright blue Hydrangea? My preference is for the original "red" Radrazz because I think their blooms age the best, but I am afraid they might be too colorful near the hydrangeas. If it helps, the house is gray. Thank you for your thoughts!

My first thought was the red. I'd under plant with something white like alyssum too. But then I'm partial to red, white and blue garden plots, lol! If your looking for softer colors try Blushing KO, Rainbow KO or Sunny KO.

I would be inclined to put pink roses near blue hydrangeas that live next to a gray house, makes me think of New England. But to everyone his taste

Does it have to be Knock Out? How about Home Run, which is a truer red color, not the cherry red/hot pink of Knock Out.

Oh please consider a softer color??!! The gray, pale/soft blue just calls out (to me!!) for pinks, corals, peachy/oranges...Even whites, which i love! Not too familiar with knock outs but I love your palette! And just a thought! Red would be lovely too.

Thanks so much for all your input! The roses do not have to be knock outs - I was just thinking of them because I have had great luck with them in other areas of my property. They have been super sturdy for me, and shrug off drought summer after summer. I also appreciate that after the Japanese Beetles decimate them in July (I don't use pesticide anywhere,) they come right back for the rest of the season. If you can suggest other roses that are equally rugged, I am all ears. Thank you again for your suggestions!

| I think a soft pink is right with the blue of a hydrangea.
