Yay! I get to go out in the garden tomorrow and prune away! All of my roses are already starting to leaf out! Wow! All this warm weather is doing it. :)

Isn't spring wonderful?!!

We're a little ahead of you, forsythia is done blooming, roses are blooming, ahead of schedule, but Mother Nature is in control...

I just saw a couple of blooms open on my forsythia this afternoon too! I'll be out working on the roses all day tomorrow. Yippee!

Mike.......

I am wondering if you are growing a forsythia plant in your garden.

What brings this question to mind is that when I went down to town today, the forsythia plant in front of the post office is in full bloom. My forsythia plant in front of my home, 200' higher elevation above the PO, is starting to bud. The forsythia plant at the top of my slope, maybe 30' higher than the plant out in front of my home, looks like it is ready to start putting out buds, but is still essentially dormant.

It surprises me how the forsythia plants bloom at slightly different times depending on the such small elevation changes.

Smiles,
Lyn

All I need is to see one bloomin' around the area and I'm set to go! Yippee is right!

Good for you ! It's snowing here today, so even if the forsythias in my garden were blooming, I'd probably take a pass today. It's so good to know someone can go out and play.

Smiles,
Lyn

Hah, I noticed my neighbor's was in major full-bloom today when I came home from work. Thought it was kinda odd. We're just now getting cold temps and even had a few snow flurries yesterday. It's frickin' cold out there now. Just shows it's gonna be another weird season....

I have 3 forsythia bushes in my yard--just to make sure I don't miss the signal for spring-pruning (which I'm right in the middle of right now). Well, I also enjoy the bright yellow color in early spring also! Great with the yellow and white daffodils and the purple hyacinths--and the redbud tree just opened yesterday--pinkish-lavender. Oh, isn't spring nice!

ah redbuds - apart from Cercis siliaquestrum (Judas tree) these are rare in the UK. Unfortunately, mine was decimated by wilt but i am now trying another tree unusual for the UK, the lovely madrone.

The forsythia here started blooming 2 weeks ago & are now shedding their bright yellow blooms and turning green.
