| This might be a silly question
One of the older climbing roses in mom's yard that I have been trying to nurse back to health has leaves with odd color patterns on them. Of course thinking the worst I am looking at rose diseases and see this one, but....I think I might have caused the odd patterns using a dormant oil too late after striping and pruning them earlier this year. It seems like more of the leaves that would have been on the canes as tiny bumps are the leaves that are the most discolored. Could that be the cause? I really do not remember ever seeing any odd coloration on them in the past, but I also think the Maybe Dr Huey was covering up most of this other rose. |

| Kippy, Can you send a photo of a leaf? The thing with RMV is that it may go for years without showing signs. But if this is an older-modern rose, you can pretty much accept that it is virused, whether you see it or not. Jeri |

| Hi Jeri, I plan on taking some good pictures of this climber once it starts blooming. It has a bunch of buds so it is happy, for a change. I thought I would take a few pictures of the leaves now and then remove the bad looking ones and see what happens with the ones that look good. My dad might have picked it up at a clients house and took it home thinking he could cure it or to see what effect different treatments might have had if it was sick. The Maybe Dr Huey is just feet away and does not have any of the similarly marked leaves. But this one seems to have much lighter and more tender of leaves. |
