 o
root question on Tamora

Approx. 20 yrs ago, I planted a very healthy Tamora--well, we moved on and we use the house for a rental.. Know one has ever take care of the yard--even less the roses.. Well, it only has one cane but--I noticed roots ABOVE th graft and very little roots system below the graft.. Has this turned into an own-root? How can I reclaim a once beautiful rose bush?? Should I try rooting some from the one cane?? It holds no real sentimental value.. Just like the rose..

It sounds from your description it's own root now. Sure, why not? If you like the rose and want more of it, root what you wish from the one cane it still has. Kim

Give the original good care, maybe plant it a little deeper, and it will sprout many more canes. My 'Tamora's have gone own root and they are excellent.
