| Hi! I've heard some less than encouraging things about Growquest Nursery. But they have two roses that I want to get: Rouge Royale and Liv Tyler. I can't find either of these locally. I can only find the later on a couple of other websites. Has anyone ordered from Growquest? I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and order with confidence or wait it out until next year. |

| You should probably be able to order these roses, even if from 2 different vendors. From what I have heard, this is a terrible company - I read he sells out of his garage, takes photos from other nurseries and claims as his own, sends half dead plants if he sends anything at all, wont answer emails, lots more. Check out Dave's Watchdog and see his ratings. I wouldnt order from this company no matter how badly I wanted a rose - heard too many negative comments. |

| I know someone who ordered something that no one else had. Months went by and no replies to emails or calls. Finally they had to get their credit card company involved with getting a refund but it was a big big mess. |
| 100% no! Ive never ordered from them, but they have an F rating with the BBB and tons of complaints. Stick with the nurseries recommened on these forums...we wont steer you wrong :) |
| I ordered from Growquest, and got my money back from my credit card via a Dispute Charge. (My credit card company was great, and this was handled quickly and efficiently.) I wouldn't recommend ordering from Growquest..... |
| Friends don't let friends buy from Growquest. Why the BBB hasn't succeeded in shutting this crook down is beyond me. JUST DON'T! |
| Don't do it! You'll regret it. It took me months of battle to get my money back for plants that never came. |
| The BBB is not a government entity, and doesn't have the power to shut anything down. It's supported by the businesses who are members of the BBB. Diane |

| Nadia: Those two roses are from Stars. You can go to their website, under Where to Buy, enter your zip code. They will give you list of reputable nurseries they supply to. Then call the nurseries and see if they have them, or will they order them for you. BTW, if you kind of say where you are located, people can let you know if they see these roses locally. Sometimes people comment on the rose; if the roses are (or not) suited for your area. Few years back I wanted to buy the same ones but I changed my mind due to negative feed back I got on them for my area. They are great roses for different climate that mine. Good luck, |

| Ok forget it then. Thank goodness I asked. I had heard bad things but I got sooo tempted because the website said he had both in stock. And all of a sudden I realized I just couldn't live without these roses in my garden! FJ, thanks for the link. I live in Agoura. |
| FJ, GREAT tip! I just found them locally at a nursery I had never been to before. SO exciting!!! |
| You may have to spray both for Rust. Neither has any kind of resistance in my garden. Rouge Royale even gets Rust on the flower petals! HOWEVER, the flowers are dazzling and the fragrance of both, though very different, is delicious. So glad for you that you managed to evade the GQ trap! |

| Nadia, I am in San Jose. Here are some of the issues I remember with these roses: RR: Rusts, does get very big and does not bloom much. Beautiful bloom if and when it blooms. Good luck, |

| You already bought them but you might like to visit San Gabriel Nursery ( San Gabriel Blvd. ) They have a big big selection and are constantly restocking. The list of roses they have is on the website. The variety of fruit trees there is also impressive. |

| So what do you like to use to spray for rust?? Also Im wondering if lack of sufficient blooms is due to feeding, weather?? Does anybody else have the same issue with rouge royale not producing enough blooms? |
| LoveLiveGarden, I have two Rouge Royals, both from Edmunds. One produces great blooms and the other doesn't. The one that produces is in full sun, while the other is partially shaded by my ever-growing-larger Rosa Rugosa Alba. It did produce better it's first year, but I didn't fertilize much last year either. Tammy |

| LoveLiveGarden are you same person as Nadia214? (Nadia's website is called LoveLiveandGarden.com) Roses act differently in various climate. That's why it is important to consider advice/feed back from your general area. A rose maybe clean everywhere else but completely be covered with rust in CA. And vice versa, many healthy roses in California black spot in humid areas. You can search a rose on this forum and see what people from same region say about it. Many people put their locations on the Zone area. But be aware that California 9 is completely different than FL 9. Sunset zones are more meaningful. I don't spray for environmental and personal (lazy) reasons and a rose that rusts, has to leave my garden. But I hear copper sprays are effective. It can be sprayed during dormant and active season. Make sure read the label. You can search the site again for more advice on that. Hoovb's blog, Piece of Eden, is chuck full of relevant information. Sorry I cannot help you anymore than that since I do not grow them myself. But those were the reasons that made me change my mind. Anyway, nothing beats first hand experience. You maybe willing to grow these roses for 3+ years and see how they behave in your garden, if acceptable you can keep them or replace them with something else. My neighbor across the street grown Heaven on Earth, it is to die for. Mine is weak and full of rust and ready to die. Go figure. FJ |

| Liv Tyler is a beauty. You will love her! |
| For me HOE is a dream in very hot dry summers. I just ordered three more because it stays low and makes it in the heat. Rouge Royale blooms like crazy here but I had to put a high trimmed crape myrtle over it's head to shade the midday sun. The blooms were so crispy. Now it gets half day and it's pretty happy. Historically I've had a little rust here and there but never on either of these-but that's just my little world. Mary Mary |

| I have Rouge Royale. Not the most flowers but the ones I get are beautiful and have wonderful scent. I moved it to morning sun to avoid the frying afternoon sun which destroys the flowers. Be sure to give this rose well prepared soil and regular feedings. |
