margaret merrill looking 'used tissuey'

This rose was a beauty last year, but so far her blooms look worn out and like a description I read here recently...like a rumpled used tissue!

Can't quite figure it out, is it the rain? Although we haven't had that much, really.

No big worries (I am to be patient!!) but wondering if my second MM I bought this year, as the plant was beautiful and on sale...and in my pot ghetto...if this should get a prized position, or background.

and wondering if anyone else particularly likes her...great fragrance, btw.

could be thrips, they tend to suck the life out of blooms. Do the petals also have brown edges?

I am having similar problem with my Judy Garland, if I understand you correctly. This is how they look currently

Normally they look bright , brilliant and very beautiful. I had to remove them from the bush and hope that the next batch of flowers will be back to normal. But I am really anxious to find out if anybody have a solution to this!

Here is a link that might be useful: Judy Garland

Did the same thing today! And mulched her too! Looks better to have a fresh start.
