Have some left-over holly-tone and just wondering if it's ok to use on my roses? Seems to have pretty much the same ingredients as rose-tone. Thanks

It's fine to use if you have it around. I would not buy it for roses only because the nitrogen ratio lower compared to Plant Tone (best) and Rose Tone. With most soils nitrogen is the main thing we need to add. |

I use it and just boost the N with a little bloodmeal or alfalfa pellets.

I use Espoma Holly-tone (big bag on porch now) and do the same as barbarag_happy.

I've used both Holly and Rose tone and haven't seen much difference. I usually buy which ever one is cheapest or on sale.

Holly tone has sulfur added. Roses like a slightly acidic soil so it may not be a problem. I uses Holly Tone on my roses because home depot sells large bags of it as opposed to small bags of rose tone. Pound for pound holly tone costs about 1/2 of what rose tone costs.
