| There is something I feel compelled to express. I appreciate it so much when members post their pictures, whether they are close-ups, garden shots, bush shots, or anything interesting connected to roses. I love the discussions, I have learned a lot from those. Sometimes a picture says it all though! At times I think we can be a little shy about posting pictures and think that no one wants to see them. My thinking is, if you don't want to see it, don't look. To me the main reason for growing roses and/or any thing of beauty is the enjoyment they bring, not only to us, but others too. Maybe I am more sensitive to this, because my DH is legally blind, due to a genetic eye disease. He makes the best of his situation and even approaches it with a sense of humor a times, but he doesn't like it. He can enjoy the fragrances though, I am glad for that. I think we should make the most of this wonderful gift of sight. It is so precious! |

| Wow - Some gorgeous pictures! Harryshoe, your roses are amazing, I would love to know what some of the varieties are. Carol, I love your Rock n' Roll, looks like it is really a good bloomer. I do try to get fragrant roses, but also have several non-fragrant ones, mostly because I like their looks so much. Kousa, your Tiddly Winks miniature is adorable, love the yellow centers. Prickles, those are gorgeous bouquets. Wasn't really expecting all this beauty today, but welcome it! Thank you. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
| Posting from my phone do I don't know how to put multiple photos on one post. Forgive me. Since we're doing buds! Quick backstory. I'm 22. This is my grandparents house. She died of cancer. Grandpa let everything go for about 7 years. I took charge of the garden and house. It's year two. There were two designated rose beds. With some surviving roses. So most have no names. The bed is, overcrowded, too shady, next to a wall and vines, and pure alkaline clay. They received no pruning, food, or water other than rain. Been working pretty hard but still have alot to do. Kokoloko! Many many buds. I've of my additions to the rose beds. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
| A fragrant pink. Dependable. Blooms in moderate flushes at a predictable speed. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
Twilight zone. A real winner. Bloomed it's heart out after I planted it last year. This year it's doing even better. There's 39 buds on it! |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
Pillow fights. Nice honey scent. Bundles of pretty white flowers. Like a smaller prettier iceberg. These are pretty beat up by the rain. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
Abraham Darby. One of my other additions. Loaded with flowers. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
A climbing rose I found half dead suffocating under the vine. Last year I sacrificed the blooms for growth. I think it might only bloom once. Because it never made another bud. This year it made quite a few. I'm excited to finally see what they look like. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
This one is a beautiful peach orange and I love it so dearly. It smells amazing. And it needs to go. It's riddled with virus, and gives one spring flush. Followed quickly by chlorosis and feeble attempts at blooming resulting in deformed flowers. Still looking for a replacement. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
| A nice pink with a spicy fragrance. Gives the yard a more airy look. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
| A nice "blue" with a strong fragrance. Incredible vase life. Making a Weird one with four buds. The rest are normal. Slow rebloom, average grower, moderate flushes. Looking for a modern equivalent. |

Three roses. One is white with pink edges. Smells amazing, just started really growing. I was going to chuck it but now I'm waiting. A very fragrant bright coral. And one I've never seen bloom. But it decided to try this year so it's spared the shovel. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
A noid yellow rose. It has very long sturdy stems. Excellent form, light fragrance, and it's never without blooms. Superb vase life. Currently about 12 feet tall. It is the slowest to get going though. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!
| | |
| Distant drums. Also budding out. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!

And Finally dark night. Now if only I could figure out why the other ones I planted last year won't bloom. |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!

| I'm cheating a little, this was probably one of my first blooms from last year, Dublin Bay. It was taken on May 9th. I'm guessing I'll have my first blooms around that time this year, or possibly even later. I am so anxious! Steve, your Firefighter is a nice red. Ordphein, post a picture of your Abe when it opens, please. |

Surprise bloom from black baccara! This one was hiding behind some overgrown rosemary I trimmed today. It's extremely hard for my phone to capture reds, let alone dark reds. So please excuse the weirdness of the photos. I still haven't truly caught how black these roses are in pictures. I'm pleased with this rose. I'm 22 and garden at my grandparents house. My grandma passed and get garden went into a decade of neglect. There are two less than ideal rose beds, shady, hot, alkaline clay soil. She had a rule. No red roses in her yard..ever. After clearing out the ones that didn't survive the neglect I started putting my own choices in. I've held true to her no red rule. But I really hoped she would make an exception for a black one. So. This, being red, and a florist rose, was designated to the furthest races of the rose bed. Where one can't see the roses, and the ones there are used for cutting. I got it as a body bag rose. Poor thing. It grew.... maybe 5 sets of leaves last year. And put out one small black flower seemingly overnight. This year it's made a better attempt. Leafed out some. Grew another 6". From what I can tell it won't be a fast vigorous grower. But I didn't get out to perform. What really gets me is how disease resistant it is. Not a speck. Of anything. Despite being in the ideal conditions for every pest and disease you can't think of. Sorry for how long that was! I have no one to gush about my roses to! |

RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!

In the shade. The colours went very flat. I couldn't get a photo in the shade. But I think it gives you an idea of how dark it is. |

| You guys have some beautiful roses!!!!! I just started gardening last summer and bit has it been one emotional roller coaster!!! Lol! I'm still learning but have fallen madly deeply in love with it. I have 2 knockout roses planted on each side of my mailbox with tons! Of buds forming. I have 2 hybrid tea roses, one miniature 'cupcake' rose and one tiny one that I think is a miniature too that I have in pot OH! And a peach drift in a pot too with buds as well. I'll attach a pic of cupcake and I'll attach my buds as well! One day I'll have a collection like you all. ☺️ |

| Everyone has been posting some lovely pictures here. Steve, I love your Galway Bay, it's gorgeous. Socks, your Sexy Rexy looks great and I loved my Mellow Yellow, but it didn't make it through our harsh winter. Ordphien, I love Twilight Zone, I've planted one this year. No clue what your other one is, but it is nice. Daisy, yours are so lovely. You have some very beautiful roses. I love your Austins and the Archduc Joseph is such a pretty color and Sombruiel is a gorgeous rose. |

I really hope the twilight zone does as well for you as me. It's a beautiful rose. I find the bush pleasing as well. I planted mine last year. I wish I could find out which rose it is as I want one when I move out. But there's lots of new mauve's out there. Ah Mulch. I don't mulch. The weeds you see are the result of 5 years of letting both yards go to hell. It's a thicket. I've slowly been weeding over the last couple years and finally got my garden beds and the grass areas are finally free of them' The side, where the roses are, hasnt been weeded yet. After that will come the mulch. Thank you. In trying really hard to get this yard in shape. She loved it so much. So did I. |
RE: Don't hesitate to share your rose pictures!

| Here is a pic of my new Twilight Zone "before" planting it this April. It was absolutely gorgeous, with a strong fruity aroma. I've never planted roses before, but after planting, it doesn't look anything like this anymore. It's blooms are now very tiny and weak, more pink instead of purple, and no longer large and fluffy. I read to clip off the spent flowers to the first 5 leaf branch, or on a cluster, just the dead bloom. Tried that, but now it has almost no blooms at all. Hoping this is just the shock of transplanting, and not permanent. Twilight Zone |
