Does she need to be sprayed? I just bought this one and all my other roses have blackspot. Do I need to go ahead and start spraying this one too?

Mine gets some black spot but not very badly and never completely defoliates. The black spot is usually contained at the very bottom of the plant. So I'd say it's fairly resistant.

Yes! Spray! I have four Julia Child roses, (beautiful rose, by the way), and have had black spot two of the three years I've had them.

I have 4 JC, and don't spray... she does get some-a bit- of BS depending on the weather, but much less than my other 'Modern' roses, and more than my OGRs, she's kind of in the middle there.. but I have gotten rid of lots of 'Moderns' and replaced them w/OGRs for that reason, but wouldd never get rid of JC she is such a delight, never stops blooming and what BS she does get doesn't stop her...sally
