Can I plant now or wait?

Hi there-

I ordered 2 climbing roses(container) from Brushwood Nurseries and allowed to pick shipping time based on my zone. Roses are Eden Climber and Joseph's Coat. I was thinking of having them shipped a bit earlier due to the warmer weather. Should I try it or wait until the end of April as zone suggests?

Thanks for any suggestions! :)

I have container roses on order from Rose Unlimited. I requested an end of April shipment date, not out of concern for the weather, but because I think that they will grow better in RU's nursery in SC than here in NJ as it is far warmer down there. I planted all of my bareroot orders 4 or 3 weeks ago, though.

Are these bare root roses?

I don't know exactly where you are but if your other roses are already growing and you can work the soil I'd say go for it. I plant roses in April all the time, bare root or potted, and have never had a problem.
