My Red Knockout rose was getting too big by our front door so hacked it back pretty hard 3 days ago.(It had alot of nice new growth on it before I cut it back) Usually they bloom in May here in pa but wonder if it will take longer to bloom now that I cut it back late this year. Any thoughts?

It'll bloom, most likely in mid May but possibly sooner if the weather stays warm. Knock Outs recycle quickly.

Lol, try and stop it from blooming! It will probably bloom even more because you pruned it back!

My DH cut my 5 foot knockouts back to 3 feet last year with hedge clippers. They bloomed non-stop. Don't worry.

They love to be trimmed back. I went out this year and just tipped mine and it burst into bloom in a week.

I am a first year gardner, and I got mad at my Knockouts because they had black spot last year I had cleaned the leaves away and cleaned up the entire area...free of any dieased leaves, and this year they had black spot on their canes.....So, I hacked them back to about 6 inches, in March, and now they are soooo healthy looking....and I started treating them now for black spot....I figured it is better to start controlling it now. and not let it get a headstart. Whether they will bloom, I dunno, but the bushes look great and healthy! :)
