Blaze as stand alone planting??

I am considering planting a blaze by it's self and possibly having it in an umbrella trellis. I'm not sure if this is a good rose to do this with or if it will get too stiff, bushy or any other issues I haven't thought of. Does anyone have a blaze off alone like this? The area I purchased it for, I changed my mind so now I have to find another place to plant it.

I have blaze as a stand alone planting. It grows in a bed right next to our back stairs. The back stairs have their own little roof, and the blaze has grown up onto the roof right outside of our bedroom window, and spread out on the roof (with some help from me), so that we can see all of the flowers right outside of the window. This display is about 8 ft off the ground - the canes growing up to the roof are mostly bare. Sounds like it should work great for an umbrella trellis! Of course, keep in mind that I am in a much warmer zone than you, and check winter hardiness, which i never have to worry about.

My Blaze is a stand alone too. I do have a small trellis in it to help support the canes. This is the photo of it that I just took this spring.

I've found that the canes are fairly flexible when they're young and bend around the trellis quite well. I get more laterals and more blooms that way.

Blaze is a weed in my area - it will pretty much do anything you want. I have six of them so far. Four of them have lasted for 26 years. The other two rooted on their own when a few of the stems of the older ones got too close to the ground.

Go for it!
