Does Spring remind you of anything as plants appear to rise up from the dead to bloom in all their glory?
Gardeners are blessed. We get to experience this resurection first hand every year.

Easter is a day of great Joy for many of us. I plan on spending the afternoon in the best Catherdral available. Finer then any wrought by human hands, with the sky as its ceiling and the earth as its floor. Truly the resurection in spring, Karl, is something to be grateful for....Maryl

Maryl, Karl many Easter blessings! For me, Good Friday is always the most important, but lol! I always totally embarrass myself on Good Friday! I always think ok, this Special Friday, I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry, and waddya know. I'm crying buckets....As bad as KS rains used to get in Spring, lol! And worst yet, there have been years when I've forgotten my kleenex and you can fill in the blanks on what happens to the sleeves of my blouse, lol!

Maryl, yes, I too love the stained glass windows of my church. So tall and so beautiful! And oh, yes, Karl the sunshine and how it filters through all flowering trees and the birds in psalms :D

RE: Easter

Sure it does, Karl. Easter reminds me of how much we are loved by God, His risen Son, and the comforting presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit. I suspect that our Intelligent Master Designer has the most delightful gardening experiences in store for us--much, much better than what our ancestors experienced in the Garden of Eden.

Have a blessed day all! :)

Karl - you said it perfectly. Indeed, we are very blessed.

RE: Easter

we went to Descanso for the Easter brunch in the rose garden.
The biggest bloomers were
Lady Banks
Belle of Portugal
M. Alfred C.
Mutabilis

Lilacs
Wisteria
Flowering Cherry trees
Apple espaliers
Tulips
Azaleas
Late season Camellias

We wore our Victorian clothes and some kids ran up to my guy in his tall top hat, coat w/tails, vest and walking stick and shouted " it's the Easter bunny! " He told them he was hiding the ears under his hat.

I'm sure you all read in the news about the jet fighter that crashed into the large apartment building on Good Friday. From the pictures, it looked as if at least half of the building was completely demolished - gone. At first, they said 7 people were injured, but over 20 people were missing, and I thought it would be like the Oakland fire here, where many of the missing were dead, and they had to send in archaeologists (true!) who had the skills to sift bits of human bone out of ashes where there had been an inferno. By yesterday they had located ALL of the people, none were dead, and all of the 7 injured have been released from the hospital. All of the local officials are calling it "the Good Friday miracle", and so far I have not even heard any snarky remarks about that from our mostly atheistic press - even they were stunned.

I took pictures this morning before church, so grateful for the resurrection of Christ and the way spring echoes that rebirth as new life comes from the dead of winter. Gardeners are blessed indeed.

Easter morning

RE: Easter

I'm not religious, but I enjoy the Spring/Easter flowers none the less. I just wish my roses would bloom sooner, but so does everybody else. Even so, they will bloom very early this year and well before May rolls around.

RE: Easter

Yeppers, Jeff CaT, we are also excited about the possiblity of our roses blooming early! My granddaughter and I spent the day working in the garden weeding, trying to get a jump start on those doggone garden invaders. We love our roses! :)

Thanks for the nice bouquet, Harbor Rose. We enjoyed it! :)
