trimming roses for the vase?

I have many blooms on my roses. I have no idea what variety I have. bought my home in june 2013. I think there is a cluster of different roses here. I would like to keep the blooms going. I would like to fill a vase. Would trimming 10-12 of them off kill it?

I pruned it back about half in jan. its very busy now.
Please let me know.thanks

Cutting off the flowers to bring in the house actually reduces stress on the rose. It no longer has to provide water to support the flowers, and it doesn't have to provide the energy to create seeds, since the flower is gone. It can get right to work producing new flowers. :)

Best time to cut is early in the morning or just before sunset, when the flowers are fully hydrated. They will last a little longer that way.

And cutting will stimulate new growth. That looks like a hybrid tea of some kind. It will bloom in cycles all season long and cutting the blooms to take in or dead heading the spent ones is exactly what you want to do to keep it blooming. If you can post a few pictures of the blooms in different stages we might be able to name it for you.

Thanks,

I will take a few more pictures. I did see a picture of the front of my house before I bought it. And the roses were about 7' tall if that helps. when I trimmed them in January you could see that they put about 4 bare roots together. I can see at least two types.
